Places we stayed in Thailand

Thailand

Nasa Vegas Hotel - Bangkok
http://www.nasavegashotel.com
Stayed: 2014 January 15 - 17 (2 nights)

Nothing fancy but good enough for its price (the best part of this hotel was the price!). The location wasn't too bad. The train station is right in front of the hotel. The airport link train stops at this station so easy access to and from airport. The cab to the central Bangkok cost only around 80 baht.

99 Bay Resort - Pak Nam
www.99bayresort.com
Stayed: 2014 January 18 - 21 (3 nights)

99 Bay Resort was super fun. We highly recommend it.

I don't think you can make a reservation online - nobody speaks English here but if you just show up, maybe there'll have a room.

99 bay Resort is located on the beach front, Pak Nam, Lang Suan district of Chumphon province - about 11km away from the Lang Suan Railway station, the closest station.

The room was clean and very spacious. Really friendly staff. They'll help you get a motorbike as well (we paid around 200 baht/day).

Great place, not at all touristy - but bring your Thai phrase book!

TCDF Eco-Logic - Pak Song
http://tcdf-ecologic.jimdo.com/
Stayed: 2014 January 21 - 22 (1 night)

LoOOOOOoooved staying at this lodge!! It was a bit hard to get to but it was definitely worth it. The bungalow we stayed was in the jungle - very quiet and relaxing.

There are yoga classes twice a day, Thai cooking classes & other activities. We'll stay longer next time for sure. Lots of volunteer groups (including amazing French brass band guys) staying at this lodge - we found so much fun getting to know them. The staff working at the lodge were all very friendly too.

But the best part of this place was the food... everything we tried was amazing!!! Their vegetarian Thai noodle soup, Mmmm....

Din Dang Home Stay - Pak Song

Stayed: 2014 January 22 - 23 (1 night)

This was another interesting place to stay. It didn't quite work out for us (maybe it was too early in our trip) but we would love to come back again someday..

Tapee Hotel - Surat Thani
http://www.tapeehotel.com
Stayed: 2014 January 23 - 24 (1 night)

Tapee Hotel is perfect as a transit hotel. The night boat pier (which you'll need to go if you are heading to Koh Tao or Koh Phangan via overnight boat) is only 700m walk.

Lots of places to eat, the night market is close by - cheap, good wifi - no complains!

The Aminjirah Resort - Koh Tao
http://www.aminjirah.com
Stayed: 2014 January 25 - February 6 (12 nights)

We were at the Aminjirah resort for 12 days, stayed in three different rooms! Super helpful staff and the manager was a great guy - looked after us well! Thank you :-))

About 20 minutes walk from Sai Ree village so it's nice and quiet. We found Sai Ree beach area too noisy so it was perfect for us.

Amazing infinity pool with a beautiful view of the ocean. There's a smaller, more private pool as well.

But most importantly, their smoothies! You gotta try them if you stay here! Guaranteed to blow your mind! (we tried all 9 of them :-)

Cinnamon Residence - Bangkok
http://www.cinnamon-residence.com
Stayed: 2014 February 25 - February 27 (2 nights)

Cinnamon Resdence is a bit out of the way (Between Don Muang Airport (Bangkok's old airport) and Mo Chit Bus station) but it was perfect for us - we needed a place close to the bus station as we were taking the long distance bus to Chiang Rai.

A nice service apartment with small kitchen and balcony. Recommended if you need a place close to Mo Chit Bus station or Don Muang Airport.

We loved staying at Laluna resort! All rooms are separate bungalow - quite spacious with clean large bathroom. Huge swimming pool and great breakfast, we ate a lot at breakfast every single day, yay!

Very comfortable stay, we would stay here again - Highly recommended!!
(...did I mention it was inexpensive too?!)
